18 June 2026, Hong Kong – Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc, today announced the launch of Levela, a free financial education app that helps young adults learn smart money skills fast, build new habits, and grow financial confidence.
The launch marks a significant step in Prudence Foundation’s ongoing commitment to advance financial literacy and inclusion across its markets, in support of Prudential’s broader ambition to expand access to financial education and empower communities.
Financial literacy remains a global challenge, limiting people’s ability to plan, protect, and progress financially. About two thirds of the global adult population are still financially illiterate1, leaving most people to make financial decisions without the foundational knowledge they need to thrive.
Developed to help address the gap in global financial literacy, Levela provides practical and accessible financial education for young adults across Asia and Africa. The app is primarily designed for Gen Z users, including those in the early stage of their careers, university students navigating adulthood, and young professionals managing cost-of-living pressures.
Available as a web and mobile app, it breaks down complex money topics into bite-sized lessons, including budgeting, saving, debt management, insurance, financial planning, and fraud prevention. An offline version has also been designed to reach underserved communities, including informal and low-income workers.
Users will finish the course with stronger lifelong financial habits, better preparation for their future, and greater confidence in managing money. Levela is available in six languages and includes a Shariah-compliant version in Bahasa Malaysia.
Building on a decade of financial education
Levela builds on the success of Prudence Foundation’s flagship financial literacy programme, Cha-Ching, which has supported millions of children across Asia and Africa in building foundational money management skills. This year, Cha-Ching celebrates its 10-year anniversary.
Anil Wadhwani, Chief Executive Officer of Prudential plc, said: “Through the impactful work of Prudence Foundation, Prudential is committed to making financial literacy accessible, relevant and transformative for all.
“With the launch of Levela app, we are growing Prudence Foundation’s financial literacy reach to educate and inspire young adults at a pivotal stage in their lives. By supporting a younger generation to navigate financial independence, make important career choices and shape their futures, Prudence Foundation is building community resilience for today and tomorrow.”
Levela's educational modules and audience-centric approach are backed by research developed in partnership with the Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) at Accion, an independent think tank dedicated to advancing inclusive and responsible financial systems globally.
Strengthening financial resilience at scale
Levela will first be rolled out in the Philippines, followed by seven additional markets later this year, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Ghana, and Zambia.
Diana Guzman, Group Chief Sustainability Officer of Prudential plc, and Chair of Prudence Foundation, said: “The future of our planet will be shaped by the next generations. Yet too many of our young people are missing the critical foundations of financial literacy that can change the course of their lives. Prudence Foundation has designed Levela to close this gap and strengthen the resilience of our communities for the future.”
Through Levela, Prudence Foundation aims to scale practical, accessible financial education for today’s financial landscape. By combining digital delivery with community engagement, Levela will help people build stronger financial habits and resilience, supporting the wellbeing of their communities.
