Financial wellbeing shapes everyday choices, even as uncertainty challenges confidence and preparedness. Prudential’s inaugural Financial Wellbeing Index explores how people in Asia are managing their finances today and preparing for tomorrow.

Four dimensions of financial wellbeing

The index measures the financial wellbeing of over 7,000 adults aged 18-60 across eight Asian markets (Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) from four dimensions, combining their attitudes, behaviours and expectations into a single score out of 100.

Having control over day-to-day, month-to-month finances

Opportunity to strengthen confidence and preparedness

Our regional survey findings point to a broad-based opportunity to strengthen financial wellbeing.

2025 Financial wellbeing scorecard

Financial wellbeing is highest among younger adults and decreases in later life stages.

Overall, younger adults record the highest wellbeing scores, with sense of security and freedom of choice tapering in later life stages.

Financial wellbeing tapers with age

Financial confidence and preparedness vary across the region.

Access to financial solutions and planning plays a meaningful role.

Financial wellbeing varies across Asia

Access to financial services and products remains a challenge for most.

An average of 18% of respondents strongly agree they have access to financial solutions that they need for success. Markets with stronger access and higher reported financial knowledge generally score higher in overall wellbeing.

Challenge in access to financial resources

As lifespans lengthen across Asia, the message is clear.

Sustained financial wellbeing will require improved access to financial solutions and long‑term planning, bringing confidence and clarity to individuals at every stage of life.
