Prudential Celebrates 175th Anniversary with Free Star Ferry Day
Hong Kong – 24 May, 2023 - In celebration of its 175th anniversary, Prudential plc. (Prudential), announced that it will offer free Star Ferry rides across Victoria Harbour to everyone on 30 May, 2023.
The Star Ferry is one of Hong Kong’s most beloved symbols, attracting commuters and visitors alike every day. As a company built on the premise of helping people get about their everyday lives, providing free rides on the Star Ferry will do just that – help people get to where they need to go.
The sponsorship is further demonstration of Prudential’s commitment to supporting Hong Kong as a global business and tourism hub.
Lilian Ng, Managing Director of the Strategic Business Group, responsible for Prudential’s insurance operations in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan said: “We would like to share the joy and happiness of our significant milestone with the people of Hong Kong and take the opportunity to promote this city’s unique heritage.

On 30 May, 2023, passengers can travel for free on Star Ferry’s inner harbour ferry crossings running between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central all day.
