Prudential plc appoints Margaret Coltman as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary
Prudential plc ("Prudential") is pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret Coltman as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary.
Margaret will be a member of the Group Executive Committee reporting to Group Chief Executive, Tidjane Thiam. She was appointed following a thorough internal and external search process and her permanent appointment takes effect from 1 January 2010. She was initially appointed to the role of Group General Counsel and Company Secretary at Prudential on an interim basis in July 2009.
Margaret was previously General Counsel and Company Secretary at Lloyds Banking Group, where she was responsible for the Group-wide legal function and Company Secretarial department. Margaret started her career at Norton Rose LLP, where she worked for 30 years. She was a partner with Norton Rose from 1986 to 2008, advising on numerous transactions for public and private companies, as well as being responsible for a number of the firm’s leading clients.
